A 62-year-old man died after he was struck by a car overnight Saturday while crossing Boulder Highway, according to Henderson police.
The man was crossing northbound Boulder Highway, north of Sunset Road, when he was hit by a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta about 12 a.m. Sunday, Henderson spokeswoman Kathleen Richards said in a release.
He was in the left travel lane and was not in a crosswalk when he was hit, Richards said. Alcohol and drugs did not appear to be factors in the crash, she said.
The 19-year-old woman who was driving the Jetta was not injured, the release said.
Northbound lanes on Boulder Highway were closed for about two and a half hours while police investigated the crash.
This was the first traffic-related fatality in Henderson’s jurisdiction this year.
