Two people were shot, one fatally, Saturday night in the central valley, Metro confirmed.

Officers responded to a call of one person shot just after 8 p.m. at the 1000 block of Weaver Drive, near Owens Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard, Metro Lt. Rick Given said.

When police arrived, they found two people shot. Both were taken to University Medical Center's trauma unit. Police did not have any information about their conditions.

Metro police were still investigating, but had no suspects as of press time.

GMTCare is accused of dropping actor and sumo wrestler Taylor Tuli Wily while he was in a wheelchair in 2023, causing fatal injuries after Wily hit his head on the pavement, according to a lawsuit filed by his estate.
