Man critically injured in west Las Vegas apartment shooting

One man is in critical condition after being shot in west Las Vegas Tuesday night.

Las Vegas police responded to the Desert Gardens apartments at 1720 W. Bonanza Road, near Martin Luther King Boulevard, about 8:30 p.m. after receiving several reports of a loud argument between a man and a woman in the courtyard followed by several gunshots.

Arriving officers found a man with gunshot wounds to his back and his leg, police said. The man was transported to University Medical Center in critical condition.

The Metropolitan Police Department Gang Unit is investigating the shooting. No suspects had been identified as of 10 p.m. Tuesday.

“Right now there is no solid lead on any suspects or motive,” Lt. Mark Reddon said.
