Man killed while changing tire on U.S. Highway 95 near Summerlin Parkway

A man was killed after being hit by a car on the right shoulder of U.S. Highway 95 near the Rainbow/Summerlin Parkway exit Monday night.

A man was fixing his flat tire on the shoulder of U.S. 95 when he was hit by a Dodge Durango, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.

The victim, described as a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Durango was suffering from a diabetic episode when he hit the man, according to Highway Patrol. He remained on scene.

The Rainbow/Summerlin Parkway exit will be closed for at least another hour while NHP investigates.
