Michaels talks bus party, television and Miley Cyrus

It may look like Bret Michaels is busy filming "Celebrity Apprentice," but the Poison singer performs a solo show Saturday in the Star of the Desert Arena at Buffalo Bill's in Primm ($33-$50).

I got on the hammer with Michaels and asked him how hedonistic his tour bus party will be. He said he throws "one helluva ... biblical, rock star party." But it's not skeezy.

"The bus is rocking. It gets crazy. That, to me, is what a party is. To me, I never think of the dark side as the party. When it gets all dark and creepy, that's not my kind of party," he said.

Michaels, 47, is planning to shoot "Rock of Love 4" for VH1. I asked for the exact number of "Rock of Love" women he has, uh, you know.

"No comment!" he said and laughed.

I asked whether, because he is diabetic, he worries about those "Rock of Love" women biting his lips during make-out sessions.

"Rock and roll is a dangerous sport," he said. "I knew what I signed up for. It's painful, yet strangely compelling."

I told him he should have more "nice girls" on "Rock of Love." He said that would be "amazing," although he noted there are nice women on the show, but their niceness is edited out. Instead, "Rock of Love" highlights women being all juiced-up.

"They start drinking tequila at about 7 or 8 in the morning. And after that, they go straight for the throat. There's a party, then there's fighting, then back to the partying and the insanity."

Michaels has an album coming out in May. Miley Cyrus sings harmony on his tune "Nothing to Lose." He also helped Cyrus rerecord Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn." He was very impressed.

"I think she's one of the few megapop stars who will break through and have a long career. I think the girl's got real talent, not karaoke talent. She's actually really good on guitar," he said, "and the girl can play the piano."

In fact, working with Cyrus reminded him of Stevie Nicks' talent.

"Stevie Nicks was the same way. She sat down at the piano and started playing, and I was like, 'This girl's good.'"
