Motorcyclist killed in crash with SUV ID’d

A man killed in a motorcycle-SUV crash Tuesday afternoon has been identified by the Clark County coroner.

Adam Garrett Shields, 25, of Henderson was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Lake Mead Parkway about 2:45 p.m. when he crashed into an SUV that turned in front of him, according to police.

The SUV was westbound on Lake Mead Parkway and failed to yield while turning onto Industrial Park Road, Henderson spokeswoman Michelle French said.

The SUV driver's failure to yield and the speed of the motorcycle contributed to the death of Shields, who was taken to Sunrise Hospital before being pronounced dead, according to police.

Shields was wearing a helmet, police said. The coroner will determine cause of death.
