Prison inmate dies in Carson City
A Northern Nevada Correctional Center inmate died Thursday morning in Carson City.
The Corrections Department reported around 9:45 a.m., inmate John Crowley, 52, died at the Carson Tahoe Hospital in Carson City.
Crowley had been housed at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in the Regional Medical Facility before his hospitalization. He was committed from Carson County on March 22, 2002, and was serving life with the possibility of parole for sexual assault of a victim under 16 and lewdness with a minor, spokeswoman Brooke Keast said.
The Carson City sheriff’s office coroner said an autopsy is being scheduled. Next of kin have been notified.
