New online tools to streamline building process
Building anything from a carport to a shopping center is getting easier in Las Vegas.
On Monday, City of Las Vegas officials said they now can accept online filing for land use applications and plans.
It’s part of a broader process to streamline development officials say eventually will include building permits and other documents, which could eliminate in-person trips to the development services center entirely.
The upgrade covers general plan amendments, rezoning requests, site plan reviews, variances and special use permits.
For people who don’t have the capacity to scan documents at their home or business, the Development Services Center at 333 N. Rancho Drive will maintain a kiosk for scanning and submitting documents.
The new process saves time and money because paper plans no longer will circulate through the department for myriad approvals. Once plans are in the system, all of the city workers who need to approve aspects of the documents can access the files simultaneously.
