Station Casinos’ 1,000 jobs show unemployed want to work

The race is on to fill those 1,000 jobs up for grabs at Station Casinos.

Since Friday's announcement, the company has received 13,000 applications, and they're still pouring in.

Lori Nelson, spokeswoman for Station Casinos, said they have booked 1,000 appointments for 300 food and beverage spots at the Red Rock Casino alone.

It's not surprising that there are 13 applicants for every job available.

Despite those who believe that the unemployed are deadbeats content with sitting at home drinking beer and eating peanuts, they're wrong.

When 13,000 people submit applications that promptly, they want to work.

One thousand jobs is nothing to sneer at. Congratulations to Station Casinos for emerging from bankruptcy and getting stronger.
