A 24-year-old woman who police believe was under the influence of narcotics lost control of her car Friday afternoon, hitting two women who were walking on the sidewalk near Charleston Boulevard and South 28th Street.
The two women were transported to University Medical Center with serious injuries, and the driver, identified as Analisa Gardea, was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on suspicion of driving under the influence of narcotics, according to a Las Vegas police press release issued late Friday.
Gardea was driving a 2004 Lincoln Navigator about 3:30 p.m. when she lost control control on eastbound Charleston Boulevard, hit the women, then flattened a light pole before hitting a tree, witnesses told police.
The condition of the women, ages 54 and 43, were not immediately known.
