Police seek suspects in teen’s shooting death

North Las Vegas police on Thursday were searching for three teenagers in connection with the May death of a 16-year-old boy.

Police are asking for the public's aid in locating suspects responsible for the May 26 slaying of Donald Troutman.

Police warned the suspects could be armed and should be considered dangerous. They are Soloman Tremain White, 19; Quinten White, 18; and Sean Paul Hall, 17.

Soloman White is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs about 190 pounds. Quinten White is about 5 feet 10 inches and about 153 pounds. Hall is 6 foot 2 and 165 pounds.

Troutman died from a gunshot wound in his right buttock, according to the Clark County coroner's office.

The shooting occurred about 6:35 p.m. in the 5100 block of Cross Ranch Street, near Fifth Street and Washburn Road. Troutman's body was found nearby on Knife River Street.

Troutman's grandmother Della Jerkins-Chaney, 51, said he was killed after a fight with a member of the HTO gang. She said he played basketball against the gang member's younger brother and was ambushed while walking home.

"He was on his way home, and they jumped out, and they had a fight," she said.

Then one of the suspects "ran back to his car, grabbed a gun and shot him."

Police have not said whether the slaying was gang-related or whether Troutman had been in a gang.

Jerkins-Chaney said Troutman doted on his grandmother and attended church every Sunday.
