Virginia Valentine appointed to NDOT’s board of directors

Virginia Valentine, president of the Nevada Resort Association, was appointed as the first woman to serve on Nevada Department of Transportation’s board of directors, Gov. Brian Sandoval announced Friday.

Valentine, a former Clark County manager and Las Vegas city manager, will attend her first NDOT board meeting on Monday.

“Transportation infrastructure is central to the success of the Southern Nevada tourism economy and I look forward to working with the board to ensure our transportation network meets the future needs of our vibrant state,” Valentine said in a prepared statement.

Valentine will replace Tom Skancke, a transportation expert who served four years on the NDOT board. Skancke, head of the Las Vegas-based consulting firm TSC2 Group, is moving to Southern California to work as a consultant with a tech startup.
