Jeremiah Eskew-Shahan's first birthday turned tragic April 27, when he was killed by his grandmother's dog, Onion.

The masiff-Rhodesian mix wrapped his jaws around the boy's head and shook him, causing a broken neck and other injuries. The dog has been under observation since then, and will be euthanized in a few days.
