Via tweet, the Palms bans bad boy Neil
Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil has been banned from the Palms after calling for a boycott via Twitter on Monday. The blowup was allegedly triggered last week when he didn't get the restaurant table he requested.
Shortly after Neil's Twitter rant on Monday, the Palms fired back by tweeting a seven-sentence statement explaining why he was "no longer welcome." Consider it a first in the social media era: a celebrity getting 86'd in Las Vegas on Twitter.
A Palms regular for almost a decade, Neil started the Twitter war last week when he ripped the Palms sushi restaurant Little Buddha for what he characterized as rude treatment.
A spy said Neil, 51, was agitated while dining and exploded after the dinner check arrived and was seen tossing money on the floor.
Monday he tweeted, "Do (sic) to recent events, including distrust and dishonesty at the executive level. I will never again step foot @palms property."
He pointedly added, "I have a lot of respect for the Maloof family."
The Palms' statement said Neil "failed to mention his own actions" and added he called hotel personnel, "threatening negative publicity."
The statement said the hotel takes customer service "very seriously, but we also take the well-being of our team members just as seriously. We cannot and will not allow our guests, no matter who they are, to mistreat our team members. As a result of his actions, Mr. Neil is no longer welcome at Palms."
Neil continued the Twitter onslaught Tuesday, calling the Palms' response "all lies" and promised he would "name names later!!"
Neil, a Las Vegas resident, has a history of behavioral issues, including jail time for DUIs.
A MAGIC TREND
Another big-name Hollywood cast is heading to Las Vegas to shoot a film involving illusionists.
Due out early next year, "Now You See Me" will feature Michael Caine, Woody Harrelson, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo and Isla Fisher.
Ruffalo stars as an FBI agent tasked with tracking down a group of illusionists who pull off bank heists during their performances and share the loot with their audiences.
Early this year, scenes from "Burt Wonderstone," starring Jim Carrey, James Gandolfini, Steve Carell and Steve Buscemi, were shot along the Strip .
Carrey and Carell portray rival illusionists with a mutual love interest: the character played by Olivia Wilde.

Jon Gray, a top marketing executive at the Palms, has joined The Linq project, Caesars Entertainment's $550 million shopping and entertainment complex between O'Sheas and the Flamingo. ...
Tap dance virtuoso Savion Glover paid the ultimate compliment the other night to Las Vegas tap legend Prince Spencer. Glover, who performed at The Smith Center last Tuesday, was so moved when he saw Spencer, 94, backstage that he knelt down and kissed Spencer's shoes. Spencer was a longtime member of the Four Step Brothers , who performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra at Harlem's Cotton Club in the 1920s. Local attorney Marc Risman, who took Spencer to the show, called him "the last man standing in tap."
