Investing in preschool gives more Nevada children a chance

In response to Thomas Herd’s recent letter on wasteful programs and early childhood education: His accusation of regimentation and indoctrination in pre-K are absurd. Kids get a head start on the basics such as shapes, colors, numbers and other meaningful ideas and terms. They also learn how to socialize so they can be successful in the classroom. The socialization is a key part. They learn confidence going into kindergarten.
Why can’t we give every child a chance to come to kindergarten with the opportunity to be successful? The children are our greatest resource. Let’s invest in our future. America needs to be proactive.
