LETTER: Keep the statute of Pat McCarran
A statue is one of the many art pieces seen on display at the Rhythms of Africa exhibition at the Left of Center Art Gallery, 2207 W. Gowan Road, July 2014. An official ribbon cutting is set at 5 p.m. Aug. 29 and an opening is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 30. These events will feature food, entertainment and art. Admission is free. Bravo to William Pyatt for speaking out on keeping the statue of the late U.S. Sen McCarran in the U.S. Capitol (Sunday Review-Journal). It’s so obvious that Harry Reid is behind the movement to replace the statue with one of himself. McCarran should stay — both at the airport and in the U.S Capitol.
