Regarding the current war of words between the mayors of Las Vegas and Oakland over the future location of the Oakland A’s (Friday Review-Journal): As someone who has visited both cities on many occasions, I quite agree with Gertrude Stein, who once wrote of Oakland, her hometown, “There’s no there there.”
