Austin police confirm that a suspect in a spate of bombing attacks that left the Texas capital on edge for nearly three weeks died Wednesday morning. As law enforcement closed in on the 24-year-old man, he detonated a device inside his car. The blast injured a SWAT officer. Another officer fired his weapon. Austin police caught a break when the suspect shipped an explosive device via FedEx on Tuesday. A search warrant was obtained based on video from the FedEx distribution center and other store receipts.
Police were able to inspect the suspect’s Google search history, ultimately tracking his location. Authorities do not know if the suspect worked alone. They also don’t know his motives.
