Danny Garcia, Brandon Rios to meet Feb. 17 at Mandalay Bay

Top welterweight contender Danny Garcia returns to the ring Feb. 17 to face former world champion Brandon Rios in a Showtime-televised main event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center.

In the co-main event, super middleweight champion David Benavidez defends his title against Las Vegas resident Ronald Gavril in a rematch.

Benavidez, 21, became the youngest 168-pound world champion when he defeated Gavril on Sept. 8 at the Hard Rock Hotel in a Fight of the Year contender.

Garcia is coming off a loss to Keith Thurman, who took Garcia’s WBC title in a welterweight unification match in March. Rios, a former lightweight titlist, ended his retirement in June after knocking out Aaron Herrera.

Rios announced his retirement after losing to Timothy Bradley Jr. on Nov. 7, 2015, at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Tickets go on sale Saturday and will be available at AXS.com.
