Dodgers rookie makes incredible catch, runs face-first into wall — VIDEO

The catch Dodgers rookie center fielder Joc Pederson made Sunday in San Diego would be incredible under any circumstances, but the fact it saved the game for Los Angeles puts it on a higher plane.

In a tie game with two outs and two Padres runners on in the bottom of the ninth inning, Justin Upton crushed what appeared to be a certain walk-off hit to deep center. But Pederson had other plans, racing back to make his game-saving grab on the warning track a split-second before crashing face-first into the wall.

Los Angeles went on to win 4-2 in 12 innings behind Pederson, who’s among the major league leaders in home runs, with 17, and is the leading candidate to earn National League Rookie of the Year honors.

Besides the actual catch, the best part of the video is Upton’s reaction.
