Oregon players mock Winston with ‘no means no’ chant

After dominating Florida State on the field, some Oregon Ducks continued to pile on Seminoles quarterback Jameis Winston after the game by turning the Seminole war chant into an anti-rape slogan.

Oregon players, including running back Kani Benoit and linebacker Torrodney Prevot, could be seen in the post-game celebration doing a “no means no” version of the familiar chant often heard at Florida State football games.

According to a statement released by Oregon, the players will face discipline.

“We are aware of the inappropriate behavior in the postgame,” coach Mark Helfrich said in the statement. “This is not what our program stands for, and the student-athletes will be disciplined internally.”

For those with short memories, Winston was accused of sexual assault in December of 2012. Though questions surrounded the investigation, Winston was not charged and was finally cleared by the university of violating the student conduct code in December 2014.

The loss on Thursday was Winston’s first as a starting quarterback in college. It could be his last college football game if he opts to enter the NFL draft, as many expect him to do.

Oregon will play against Ohio State in the College Football Championship Game on January 12.
