Sophomore wide receiver Randal Grimes signed with Southern California in 2017 out of Desert Pines High School. He transferred to UNLV on July 1.
The junior has missed 10 starts in the past two seasons because of injures, and the Rebels went 1-6 in the games he missed last season with a toe injury.

UNLV senior guard Zack Singer hopes the NCAA will approve a sixth season of eligibility. He has dealt with several injuries since transferring from Kent State in 2015.
UNLV hopes an influx of defensive players will make a big difference on that side of the football. The Rebels, who opened spring practices Monday morning, have struggled defensively for many years.

UNLV plays UNR at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Sam Boyd Stadium. The teams play for the Fremont Cannon and state bragging rights.
