Sports Betting Spotlight: Atlanta Falcons season preview
September 4, 2016 - 10:16 am
The Review-Journal’s Matt Youmans, Las Vegas handicapper Kelly Stewart and Golden Nugget sports book director Tony Miller preview the Falcons’ season in the 24th of a series of 32 NFL team videos:
- The Falcons started 5-0 last season before fading to 8-8. Atlanta was awful in division play with a 1-5 record against NFC South opponents.
- A late-season victory over Carolina (15-1) was the Falcons’ bright spot. But is this team capable of competing with the Panthers and beating the Buccaneers and Saints to stay out of the division basement?
- Dan Quinn, a former Seattle defensive coordinator, still has a roster in need of rebuilding in his second season as coach.
- Julio Jones led the league with 136 receptions and 1,871 yards. However, quarterback Matt Ryan regressed last season, and his downward spiral is cause for concern.
- Over or Under 7 regular-season wins?
