Toyota to sponsor fall NHRA races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Toyota has signed a multiyear deal to sponsor the fall NHRA drag races at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The NHRA Toyota Nationals will be held Oct. 24-27. Its the next-to-last event in the NHRA Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship.
The NHRA drag racers also visit Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the spring. This year, the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals were April 5-7.
Toyota began its involvement in NHRA in 2002 with a Celica-bodied Funny Car.
The company currently sponsors three Top Fuel teams — Khalid alBalooshi and Shawn Langdon of Al-Anabi Racing, Morgan Lucas and Brandon Bernstein of Morgan Lucas Racing, and Antron Brown of Don Schumacher Racing — and four Funny Car teams — Cruz Pedregon of Cruz Pedregon Racing, Tony Pedregon of Tony Pedregon Racing, Del Worsham and Alexis DeJoria of Kalitta Motorsports, and Chad Head of Head Racing.
Toyota also is the title sponsor of the Toyota NHRA Summernationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J.
