LAKE MEAD — Fishing is hot for those anglers willing to brave the morning chill. Those making it out at first light have reported good fishing for striped bass. The action also is good at dusk and for about two hours after. The areas near Boulder Harbor and past the beaches have produced well. Birds in the area can be an indicator as to where the fish are coming closer to the surface to feed on shad. Netting shad for bait has not been a problem for those heading into Vegas Wash.

Heisman finalist Gordon to enter 2015 NFL draft

Heisman Trophy finalist Melvin Gordon will play only one more game at Wisconsin before heading to the NFL. Gordon told “The Dan Patrick Show” he would declare for the draft following the Outback Bowl, where he could set the single-season rushing record with 293 yards against Auburn.
