Austin Anderson’s infield single in the ninth inning scored Morgan Stotts with the winning run as the UNLV baseball team beat UC Riverside 5-4 on Tuesday at Wilson Stadium. Stotts had three hits and scored twice for the Rebels.

UNLV captured its 10th men’s swimming and diving conference title in 11 years, clinching the Western Athletic Conference crown on the final event of the championships Saturday in San Antonio.

UNLV’s Dana Finkelstein took ninth overall and sixth among amateurs Saturday at the World University Golf Championship in Geneva. The senior-to-be finished the four-round event at 1-under-par 287 to help Team USA take second behind Spain.

Ex-Rebel Bingson wins hammer throw in USATF Outdoor Championships

Former UNLV track and field star Amanda Bingson won the hammer throw Saturday for the second consecutive year in the USATF Outdoor Championships in Sacramento, Calif. Bingson, a 2012 London Olympian who attended Silverado High School, won the event with a toss of 246 feet, 3 inches, almost 11 feet better than runner-up Jessica Cosby. The winning throw was a record at Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium.

Rain postpones Air Force-UNLV baseball game

The Air Force-UNLV baseball game Friday at Wilson Stadium was postponed because of rain and will be made up at noon today as part of a doubleheader. The game was the first postponed by rain at UNLV since March 4, 2005.

UNLV’s Josifoska wins MW tennis award

UNLV junior Aleksandra Josifoska was named the Mountain West women’s tennis player of the week. Josifoska, ranked 32nd in the nation in singles, went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles last week.
