A day after UNLV landed its potential quarterback of the future in three-star recruit Armani Rogers, the Rebels added a potential future target for the 6-foot-5-inch signal caller Friday night in receiver Mekhi Stevenson. Stevenson is rated a two-star recruit by Rivals.com
The 6-foot,180-pound Stevenson orally committed to UNLV in unique fashion. An aspiring film director, Stevenson revealed his decision via a YouTube video he posted on his Twitter account, @EmChuuBee, which bears the name Spike Lee Jr. Stevenson, who'd originally committed to San Jose State in April, chose UNLV over Colorado State and Utah State.
Stevenson is rated a three-star recruit by 247Sports.com. He had 36 receptions last season for 775 yards and 10 touchdowns for Helix High School in La Mesa, California.
UNLV's recruiting class, which features a school-record 10 three-star players, is ranked No. 2 in the Mountain West by Rivals.com, behind Boise State, and No. 65 in the nation.
Players who've orally committed to the Rebels can make it a binding agreement Wednesday by signing their national letters of intent on national signing day.
