UNLV-USC football game moved to 2018 from 2019
June 17, 2016 - 5:53 pm
The UNLV football team will face Southern California on Sept. 1, 2018, one year earlier than previously scheduled, the schools announced Friday.
The Rebels will be paid a guarantee of $1.15 million for the game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum that was originally scheduled to be played Aug. 31, 2019.
UNLV received a $1 million payday for playing a game at Michigan last season and is set to pocket a school-record $1.3 million for playing at Ohio State on Sept. 23, 2017.
In the only previous meeting between UNLV and USC in 1997, the Trojans rallied for a 35-21 win.
The Rebels’ nonconference schedule this season features home games against Jackson State (Sept. 1) and Idaho (Sept. 24) and road games against UCLA (Sept. 10) and Central Michigan (Sept. 17).
