2 killed after Ohio police chase ends in crash, building collapse

CINCINNATI — Police in southwestern Ohio say a car being pursued by officers crashed into a building, which then collapsed on the vehicle, killing two suspects.

Police in Springfield Township in suburban Cincinnati say the driver survived and was hospitalized in serious condition in intensive care.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that police were trying to stop three suspects who were allegedly breaking into vehicles early Friday. Police say officers lost track of the suspects’ car before finding it crashed into the lawnmower shop.

The one-story building sits facing the end of a long, straight road. It had a flat roof that was bowed into a “V” shape after the crash.

Police say it’s too soon to say what charges the driver would face.
