8 high school students suspended after massive brawl on campus

Eight Memphis high school students were suspended and issued juvenile summons after a massive brawl broke out in the cafeteria.

None of the White Station High School students in Memphis were seriously injured, but a video of the fight has concerned school officials and parents.

A local Fox affiliate reported that the district spokesman believes the fight began as a conflict off-campus that spilled over into the school.

“We would like for you to know that we are fully aware of the situation and have disciplined all students involved,” the school said on Facebook Tuesday. “This type of behavior from our students is unacceptable and all involved students are being held accountable accordingly.”

A parent of a victim in the fight contacted local news to express her concerns. She said bullying had been going on for at least one month and believes the fight could have been prevented.
