Automall hosts 12th tree-decorating contest

The Valley Automall is swinging into season with its 12th annual tree-decorating contest for Clark County high school students. The event takes place on Dec. 1 at each of the Valley Automall's 17 dealership showrooms. First place receives $3,000; second gets $2,000; and third takes home $1,000.

"Students always produce creative and imaginative trees," said Valorie Staley, manager of the Valley Automall. "This inspirational event continues to gain momentum each year, so interested students should apply immediately; space is limited."

The Valley Automall provides each team with funds to purchase tree decorations at a store of its choice. Next, the team adorns a 10-foot-tall evergreen inside a dealer showroom. Local celebrities will judge the trees, awarding cash prizes to the winning schools.

Entries are now being accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Valley Automall will select one team only from each school. Interested parties must respond no later than Nov. 6. For more information, call 568-1487 or e-mail manager@ valleyautomall.com in order to receive an entry form. Interested participants can additionally check out the Web site at www.valleyautomall.com for photos of last year's winners.

The Valley Automall is the world's largest auto mall with more than 185 acres, with thousands of new and used vehicles. The auto mall is located in Henderson off of U.S. Highway 93/95 at Auto Show Drive, or exit the Las Vegas Beltway at Gibson Road.
