The Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort plans to offer its Snow Day program for the second year to get youths on the slopes.
The weekday field trip program is designed for public, private and homeschool groups and includes ski or snowboard lessons and lessons about winter first aid and the ecology of the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
The program is set to run from January through March. It costs $30 per student, with a complimentary chaperone ticket included for every 12 students, limited to 200 students. A ticket includes two hours of lessons, a lift ticket, equipment rental, lunch at the Bighorn Grill and a cup of hot chocolate.
The resort requires schools to provide one chaperone for every 20 students, and scholarships are available for children whose families cannot afford the fee.
