Centennial sales executive puts focus on buyers’ needs

Brian Dechirico of Centennial Buick GMC Mazda understands first-hand that success in the car business is based primarily on networking.
"People don't even leave the house anymore," said the 38-year-old Dechirico, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., and an admitted "car nut." "We must know our product from front to back because the customers many times know the vehicle very well thanks to the Internet."
Dechirico has an interesting network considering that when he's not working nights at Centennial Buick GMC Mazda, he's works as a host at various nightclubs in Las Vegas. The combination of the two gigs seems to work well.
"I meet a lot of different people in the nightclub business and many of them need cars," said Dechirico, who can easily work 20 hours a day between the two jobs. "The whole experience of someone buying a car requires a level of science. You really need to understand the client. Everyone is a unique case and you take your time with them. We can make a car deal work for a person as long as we listen to their wants and needs.
"Buying a car is a person's second-biggest purchase. It's a big commitment so you want to make it as personable as possible. You want people to not only be comfortable with the experience but also send other customers your way."
Dechirico has a unique situation at the Centennial dealership because he can sell so many brands and models at the same location. In addition, he can sell new or used vehicles.
"A great seller right is the Mazda3," explained Dechirico. "For affordability, it's great and it's the best in its class. In addition, Mazda has several models to choose from and overall Mazda is very reasonable. For the quality of car you're getting, it's a great vehicle."
Dechirico also knows the importance of getting away from business.
"To me, the best way to relax and get away from business is through my family," said Dechirico, whose family includes his wife, Monica; son, Brian Jr., and daughter, Angelina. "They help me zone out from the rest of the world. They're all I need."
While Las Vegas is considered to have a busy pace, it's nothing like New York.
"Compared to New York, Las Vegas is actually a very laid-back city," Dechirico said. "We love it here."
Dechirico has a strong following at the dealership.
"My buying experience with Brian was really awesome," said Eric Edwards, who purchased a 2011 Mazda CX-9. "My parents were there and it was great. Brian treated me right."
Centennial Mazda, the latest addition to the Superstore Auto Group, is also one of the most successful Mazda dealerships in the West Coast.
Situated at 6525 Centennial Center Blvd. in the northwest valley, Centennial Buick GMC Mazda is headed by General Manager Jan Sheinfeld.
