Diner owner not sorry she yelled at toddler for crying

A Maine diner owner isn‘t apologizing for yelling at a toddler to be quiet after listening to the girl‘s cries for 40 minutes.

Darla Neugebauer, owner of Marcy‘s Diner in Portland, Maine, said she doesn‘t care about social media backlash after the story of her telling a 2-year-old girl to be quiet spread on Facebook.

"Life‘s full of choices and you‘ve got to live with all of them," Neugebauer said, according to the Associated Press. "I chose to yell at a kid, it made her shut-up, which made me happy, it made my staff happy, it made the 75 other people dining here happy, and they left, they may never come back, other people may not come in. Their loss really."

Neugebauer said the parents ordered food for the girl, but ignored her during the visit and didn‘t feed her when the food arrived. The girl‘s mom said anyone with kids would understand why a toddler would be crying after waiting for food for that long.
