February 28, 2014 - 9:05 am
Beach Pizza
1780 N. Buffalo Drive at West Cielo Vista Avenue; 702-255-8646
There is “fun in the Southern California sun” when ordering one of the specialty pizzas here. Hang Ten is made with pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, mushrooms, onions, green peppers and black olives. The Del Rey has sun-dried tomatoes, baked eggplant, garlic, mushrooms, mozzarella and romano cheese, while Blonde on the Beach is a combination of ricotta, Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses with fresh garlic, olive oil and parsley. Other pies are Popeye and Olive Oil, Vege-Terranean, Manhattan Man and BBQ Chicken Supreme — or just build your own from the more than 20 available toppings. Featured pasta entrees, served with garlic bread, are oven-baked eggplant or lean chicken parmigina, low-fat marinara over spaghetti or penne and shrimp scampi. Popular sandwiches include hot Italian hero (salami, mortadella, ham, mozzarella), pastrami melt, charbroiled chicken, hamburgers, hot or cold ham and cheese, Reuben melt, sausage-peppers-onion hero, chicken or eggplant parmigiana and Philly or chicken steak hero. There are salads (chopped antipasto, half chicken Caesar), appetizers (wings and fingers, mac and cheese bites, jalapeno poppers, toasted ravioli) and desserts including New York cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies. Pizzas start at $9.95. Beach Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
