Bistro 57 is a morning coffee shop that becomes a handsome restaurant for lunch and dinner starring the Mediterranean-inspired menu from chef George Jacquez. Breakfast is served from 7 to 11 a.m. and features Belgium waffles with berries, croissant French toast, scrambled lox and eggs, quiche (Lorraine, Florentine, caramelized onions with goat cheese) and Rustic Eggs Benedict with potato onion hash. Appetizers include Moroccan hummus with pita chips, escargot in garlic butter, calamari with spicy peppers, traditional bruschetta and antipasti platter with cured Italian meats, giardiniera and Parmesan reggiano. Among the entrees are osso bucco, angel hair with basil pomodoro sauce, seared ahi tuna, English shepherd’s pie, chicken Milanese and seafood risotto. Several sandwiches, served with fruit, arugula salad or pommes frites, are artisanal grilled cheese, Serrano ham and gourmet Prime Burger with American, Roquefort, Brie or Gruyere cheese. There are flatbreads, entree salads (Greek with chicken or shrimp, Nicoise, Italian chop), soups (French onion, potato leek) and garlic bread. Live entertainment is every Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. Entrees start at $9, and breakfasts begin at $5. Bistro 57 is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 7 a.m to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. — Jack Bulavsky
