Those Chicago hot dogs are everywhere. Why eat just a plain dog when you can get a Chicago all-beef dog with yellow mustard, bright green relish, diced onions, tomato slices, sport peppers, dill pickle and a shake of celery salt? Try one and you'll understand the fervor that goes with this Midwest icon. Other Chicago-style dogs, served with hand-cut fries, are jumbo, Vienna Polish sausage, corn, chili cheese and Vienna Stadium bratwurst. Scala's Italian beef sandwich can be ordered wet or dry, along with Scala Italian sausage. Depending how you like your dog dressed, there is a list of condiments featuring sweet peppers, grilled onions, sauerkraut, brown mustard, American or mozzarella cheese and ranch dressing. The menu also has pizza puffs, Chipico whole deli pickles, pita chicken wrap, gyros, Supreme beef tamales, cheddar cheese fries and chicken tenders. A kids' menu has hot dog, corn dog and grilled cheese with fries, pudding and drink. If you prefer to cook yourself, take home all the dogs, relish, buns and Italian beef for a true Chicago barbecue. The classic Chicago dog starts at $5.60, and the Italian beef sandwich is $7.69. Chicago Tasty Dogs opens daily at 10:30 a.m.
