The star of this restaurant is its menu with dishes from throughout the country. There is beef or chicken with green peppers and tomatoes, pepper steak with onions, scallops with lobster sauce, curry beef, moo goo gai pan, roast pork with Chinese vegetables and shrimp with snow peas. The menu has chow mein, lo mein (soft noodles), sweet and sour, chow fun (large rice noodles), egg foo yong, chow mai fun (thin rice noodles), chop suey and fried rice, and all can be made with roast pork, chicken, shrimp, vegetable, beef or lobster. Popular appetizers are fried crab stick, vegetable roll, barbecued spare ribs, sesame cold noodles and steamed vegetable dumplings. Soups come with fried noodles and include egg drop, chicken corn, hot and sour, and seafood with bean curd. Among the vegetarian dishes are tofu with vegetables, sautéed snow peas and bean curd Szechwan style. There is even a Szechwan and Hunan menu starring hot and spicy beef, Double Delight with garlic sauce, moo shu chicken or pork, shrimp with cashew nuts, chicken Hunan style, Happy Family and General Tso's chicken. Entrees begin at $5.50. China Star is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday through Sunday. - Jack Bulavsky
