Dim Sum Cafe

3700 W. Hualapai Way at West Twain Avenue; 702-257-1668

Dim sum is a style of Cantonese food that is prepared as small portions and traditionally served in steamer baskets or on small plates (the original tapas). It is customary to order them family style and share dishes among members of the dining party. Tradition also states that dim sum in the afternoon with tea is soothing and relaxing. Among the many listed items are baked barbecue pork bun, vegetable dumpling, steamed pork spare ribs, stuffed mushroom, spinach dumpling, steamed beef tendon, sweet tofu, bean curd skin roll and sweet rice cake. Wok entrees include ginger and green onion beef, sweet and sour pork, curry chicken, stir-fried mixed vegetables, stewed beef and deep-fried pork chop. Several soups are chicken corn, egg drop, pork chop noodle and miso. Popular noodle and rice dishes are beef chow fun, shrimp fried rice, chicken or beef egg noodle and combo curry chow fun. Want something more familiar? The menu has lettuce wraps, chicken salad, club or chicken sandwich and even a hamburger. Among the drinks are Chinese tea, Thai coffee, Hong Kong milk tea and red bean ice. Dim sum starts at $2.50, and entrees start at $8.25. Dim Sum Cafe is open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
