True Southern soul food has a distinctive taste all onto itself. So when it's time to try some of this all American food, it behooves you to stop in and see Granny. Her entrees include baked chicken, fried chicken, fried pork chop, Carey's Texas-style ribs, fried cat fish, fried snapper and rib tips. There is smothered chicken and a smothered pork chop in gravy that will have you eating just the gravy. Each item is served as either a lunch or dinner portion with sides such as collard greens, cabbage, black-eyed peas, macaroni and cheese, rice and gravy, fries, baked beans and yams. Breakfast is two eggs with a choice of Granny's fried potatoes or grits and a choice of pancakes, waffle, toast or biscuits and gravy. Additional items include pork sausage, bacon, pork patty, turkey sausage or bacon and chicken wings. The meal is not complete without dessert, and that means caramel chocolate cake, red velvet cake or peach cobbler. Granny's lunch plate with one side is $9.99 and is served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Her dinner plate with two sides and cornbread is $15.99 is served from 3 to 9 p.m. Granny's Kitchen is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. -- Jack Bulavsky
