Dining pick of the week: Palm Pizza

Small neighborhood pizza joints are friendly and cozy, serving up tasty pizza at neighborhood prices. At Palm Pizza, pies range in size from 12 to 24 inches and can be made with all the traditional toppings, including pepperoni, mushroom, bell pepper, sausage, ham, onions, black olives, pineapple and beef. Several special pizzas are Hawaiian, Philly steak, Buffalo chicken, Supreme Mexican and seafood. The Palm Double Deal is two pizzas, chocolate cake and a 2-liter soda priced from $14.99 to $19.99. The Family Feast is two 16-inch pizzas, 20 wings or 10 fingers and a 2-liter soda. Among the sandwiches are hamburgers, ham and cheese, meatball, fried shrimp, gyro, chicken Philly and Italian sub. There are wings and fingers, fish and chips, salads (Greek, Caesar, antipasto) and sides such as jalapeno poppers, breaded mushrooms, chili cheese fries, mozzarella sticks, cheese bread, onion rings, corn dog with fries and lasagna with garlic bread. Featured desserts are rice pudding, lemon cake, strawberry cheese cake and ice cream. Pizzas begin at $6.99, with a 14-inch cheese pizza for $5.99 for pick-up only. Sandwiches start at $5.99. Palm Pizza is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. - Jack Bulavsky
