Dining Pick of the Week: Pizza Patron
PICK OF THE WEEK:
PIZZA PATRON
1979 N. Nellis Blvd. at East Lake Mead Boulevard, 531-9191
Pizza is pure Italian, but so many other cultures have adopted it. Pizza Patron celebrates the diversity of Latin culture, and its pizza reflects this pride. All pies are 14 inches. Select your sauce (cheese, marinara or Alfredo) and add your favorite toppings. Specialty pies include La Patrona (pepperoni, ham, sausage, ground beef, onions, mushrooms, black olives and bell peppers) and La Mexicana (chorizo and ground beef with onions, bell peppers and jalapenos). There is also La Hawaiana, La Vegetariana and Spinach Clasico with Alfredo. Among the wings are lime 'n pepper, Buffalo and garlic con queso, wings dusted with a blend of Parmesan and romano cheeses. Other sides are QuesoStix, soft breadsticks topped with mozzarella, and BreadStix topped with a butter-garlic glaze and Italian seasonings. Both are served with marinara sauce. And there can be only one dessert: churros. These cinnamon and sugary delights are crispy on the outside with caramel inside. Try the Manzanita Sol, a beverage with the crisp flavor of freshly picked apples infused with a smooth fizz. Ask about specials for multiple pizza orders. Pizzas begin at $4.99, and 12 wings start at $6.99. Pizza Patron is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday.
