Dining pick of the week: Wildburger
PICK OF THE WEEK:
WILDBURGER
WILDFIRE Rancho, 1901 N. Rancho Drive at West Lake Mead Boulevard, 648-3801
There's a new hamburger in town: Wildburger. Actually, Wildburger is two things: it's the name of a delicious Angus-beef hamburger and of a quick-service restaurant. Chef Christian Geier has created a menu starring the half-pound, charbroiled Wildburger served on a brioche bun with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, signature slaw, pickled onions and french fries. You can also choose to have it on a sesame seed or wheat bun or wrapped in lettuce. There is a choice of sauces (roasted garlic ketchup, smoky barbecue honey, jalapeno ketchup, thousand island) and toppings, including cheeses, fried egg, avocado, fried onion strings and chili. Other sandwiches are crispy chicken deluxe, veggie burger and blackened Cajun turkey burger. There are wings, chili with cheese and onions, a footlong, half-pound hot dog with fries and salads featuring the cheeseburger, where the beef patty is served on a bed of iceberg lettuce with tomato, onion and thousand island dressing. A limited breakfast menu is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with pancakes and build-your-own omelet. Desserts are deep-fried Twinkies and homemade Ding Dongs. A Wildburger starts at $7.99. Wildburger is open 24/7. - Jack Bulavsky
