Ex-football pro back at Findlay Kia

Raven Brosier worked in the car business for nine years before deciding to focus on another career in 2009. The Pittsburgh native is now back with Findlay Kia, and you won't find a happier man.
"Once you learn the car business, you can go anywhere," said Brosier, a former football player who played strong safety the Las Vegas Fire of the United States Indoor Football league in 2002-03. "I love the competitive nature and I compare it a lot to football.
"Like football, you can get beat on a play. But you have to learn to how to celebrate your victories and not let the losses get in your way."
There is nothing quite like making a car deal, he said. However, today's sales consultants must be familiar with their product and the industry.
"There is a fine line in the car business. This industry has really changed now because customers are knowledgeable about the vehicle they are looking for when they enter the lot primarily because of the Internet."
Brosier has been back for three months and he obviously has not lost a step considering that he's averaging 20 car deals a month.
"I could have gone anywhere, but I chose Findlay Kia for pair of reasons," he said. "First off, General Manager Byron Klemaske brings the best out of me. He knows how to work with talent guys like myself. He brings out the best in you. Add to that the fact that Byron is also a former UNLV baseball player and we think the same lingo. He has the same goal as me and that is to win."
Equally important in Brosier's decision to re-enter the car business was the fact that Findlay had secured the Kia franchise.
"Kia is phenomenal. They have several different lines of automobiles now and they are literally selling like hotcakes. I traded in my 460 Lexus LS for 2012 Kia Optima. In essence, I traded in $95,000 Lexus for a $30,000 Optima and I still get the same results. I drive what I see and I think that people appreciate that."
Brosier said he has many Korean customers who are now frequenting the Kia marketplace.
"The Korean people have recognized the positive changes in the Kia in the past few years," Brosier said. "The Kia also now has one of the best warranties in the business, too. We stick behind our product and back it with a 10-year, 100,000-mile engine warranty, along with a five-year, 60,000-mile basic warranty. With the warranties provided by Kia, I do not have to worry about my customers when they drive off the lot. Kia sticks behind its product; Findlay sticks behind their managers; managers stick behind the sales consultants; and the sales consultants stick behind their customers. I cannot imagine a better combination."
Findlay Kia is at 5325 W. Sahara Ave. The dealership is part of the Findlay Automotive Group, which was founded in 1961 by the late Pete Findlay, whose son, Cliff Findlay, now spearheads new- and used-car operations in Nevada, Arizona, Utah and Idaho.
