Family can’t rebook cruise after son diagnosed with cancer

A New York family is upset with a Norwegian cruise line they say refused to rebook their $4,000 cruise after their 5-year-old son was diagnosed with cancer.

Two weeks before Nicolas Colucci was supposed to go on a cruise with his family, he had to have surgery on his liver, gallbladder, diaphragm and lymph nodes to remove a tumor, according to MyFox NY.

The cruise line told the family they should have purchased travel insurance and that nothing could be done.

After hearing about the story, the CEO of a popular cruise line reached out to the family and offered them a free cruise.
