Findlay, Black Mountain Golf ink long-term agreement

You might say that Findlay Acura has found a tremendous niche by participating in golf events throughout Southern Nevada, especially considering the dealership's most recent agreement with Black Mountain Golf and Country Club. General Manager and Director of Golf L. Keith Josey.

The two announced recently a long-term partnership that will tie the Valley Automall dealership into promotions ranging automobiles being offered as hole-in-one prizes to free oil changes and free detailing along with discounts on various automotive purchases.

With an estimated 65,000 golfers playing throughout the year at the 27-hole Black Mountain Golf and Country Club, the agreement is a win-win for all involved. The Henderson-based course has existed since 1957 and has proven to be one of the most popular courses in Southern Nevada.

Josey said every tournament would include an Acura from the Findlay dealership, as well as vehicles from other dealerships under the family business.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for all of us involved," Josey said. "With this particular golf course, it reminds my wife and me of the Southern golf courses because of the hospitality. We try to exude the hospitality here. If you play here, you're going to have fun."

The agreement actually started April 30 with the Chuck England Scholarship Fund tournament presented by the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union 525. The event raised $60,000.

"The tournament was such a success that it resulted in six scholarships for local high school students," Josey said. "We'll raise that amount of money, if not more, when we join with Findlay to present the We Love Maggie tournament to benefit the Children's Heart Foundation May 29."

Findlay Acura General Manager James Cobbs lauded the agreement.

"We are proud to be joining with Keith and Black Mountain," Cobbs said. "I have always said that you meet the nicest people on the golf course and that's the case with Black Mountain. We're going to have a ball working with them."
