HENDERSON SEEKS ARTISTS FOR FESTIVAL
Henderson is seeking artists to apply to participate in its upcoming Art Festival of Henderson scheduled for May 11 and 12. The annual Mother’s Day weekend event is expected to feature a variety of contemporary artists, fine crafts, fashion and home décor artisans as well as artists creating chalk art.

FREE CLASS FOR MASTER GARDENERS PLANNED FOR SATURDAY
Clark County Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are scheduled to offer free classes starting Saturday at Acacia Park, 50 Casa Del Fuego St.
The first class is slated for 9 a.m. and is expected to cover questions about choosing plants.

BMX RIDER TO ATTEND
BICYCLE SWAP EVENT
BMX rider Ricardo Laguna is scheduled to make an appearance at the city of Henderson’s Bicycle Swap & Rally at 10 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Park, 1600 Wigwam Parkway.
The free rally invites people to trade or sell gently used bicycles and bike parts.

Sunset GARDEN CLUB plans to present 21st annual flower show
The Sunset Garden Club plans to present its 21st annual Standard Flower Show from noon to 4 p.m. April 13 at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway.
The theme is “A Fascinating Country.” Numerous floral designs will be on display, as well as different varieties of horticulture that grow well in the Las Vegas area. Admission is free.

CHILDREN’S BOOK DAY
Henderson Libraries is planning to host a Children’s Book Day from 2:30 to 5 p.m. April 27 at the Paseo Verde Library, 280 S. Green Valley Parkway.
The celebration is expected to feature activities that emphasize the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
