High school senior left out of yearbook because she wore a suit

A California high school senior’s portrait was left out of her high school yearbook over a policy that officials say is now under review.
Crystal Cumplido, a senior at Lincoln High School in Stockton, Calif., was dressed in a black suit with a red tie in her senior portrait, complete with a huge smile.
“Because that’s what I’m comfortable with,” she told FOX40.
When she got her senior yearbook, her photo was no where to be found and it upset her. She said administrators told her women and men are supposed to be dressed a certain way.
“He told me that I wasn’t following policy,” she said. “That girls are supposed to wear the black, little shirt over whatever.”
Tom Uslan, superintendent of the Lincoln Unified School District, said she had been wronged and that leaving out her photo was an oversight.
Cumplido told FOX40 she wanted a new copy for her and for their school library that includes her photo.
“It’s like I didn’t even exist in Lincoln,” she said.
