Homeless Detroit man accepts credit card donations — VIDEO

No spare change? That's not a problem for one homeless man in Detroit because he accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express donations.

According to WDIV, Abe Hagenston, 42, isn't your everyday homeless panhandler.

“Being homeless is my business now. My business is being homeless,” Hagenston said.

In addition to accepting credit card donations via the Square app through his cellphone, Hagenston also has a website, which he is able to manage using computers at a public library.

Hagenston said that through his website, people can hire him to complete odd jobs.

“I’ve done some painting. I’ve taken some other guys out on team jobs where I needed a couple extra guys to carry some things," he said.

According to Hagenston, he also has an idea for an app that would "weed out fake panhandlers and a non-profit to benefit homeless people."

"I'm trying to turn this situation into something that will not only help me but help others," he said.
