Human-powered theme park gives guests a thrill, workout — VIDEO

Hidden away in the Dolomites mountain ranges of northeastern Italy, a restaurant called Ai Pioppi offers its patrons a unique attraction — a giant human-powered theme park.

Everything within the metal playground operates on kinetic energy. And it’s as insane as you would imagine.

Our virtual tour guide, Tom Scott, gives an up close and personal perspective of one of the giant rides, a swing powered by the passengers’ pedaling.

During Scott’s journey to the top of the swing, we see bits and pieces of the rest of the park, which looks just as exciting.

A massive rollercoaster rail slide, an enormous metal teeter-totter and a multitude of other attractions await those daring enough to explore the park.

Even Scott took a beating if you watch the end of the video.

We have one man to thank for these insane rides: Bruno. The video explains that he spent over 40 years designing and creating the playground.

The video gives bite-sized looks at the rides, but you can find more pictures of the theme park here.

Best part, of the whole deal? It’s free. For the folks who eat at the restaurant, anyway.
